New Bases Now Available

We are thrilled to announce that our new 5x5 and 5x8 bases are now available for purchase! In addition to upgrading the finish and shaping the edges, we are also excited to introduce a new color.

While our bases will always be available in black, for those who would like a pop of color, we now give you Blayman Blue. We love the new color and hope you do too!

Manufacturing Update

In addition to the newly released 5x5 and 5x8 bases, our first phase of product rollout will also include pegs for Clarinet, Eb Clarinet, Oboe, English Horn, Flute, Piccolo, Alto Flute and Bass Flute. All of these pegs are at various stages of the mold-making process.

The clarinet mold was completed first and is now being sent to the engraver. The rest of the molds are close behind, but we'll work out the texturizing and engraving details on the clarinet mold now so that we can fast-track the rest of the molds. 

The second phase of our product rollout will include the Bass Clarinet/Bassoon Stand, pegs for Trumpet and Soprano Sax/Flugelhorn, 8x8 bases and the Doubler Attachment Kit. These products are in the design and prototype stages and we are actively working to get them into production as soon as possible. 

The Bass Clarinet/Bassoon stand in particular is getting a complete overhaul to address specific issues that came to light when we collected user feedback. We are especially excited about these improvements and can’t wait to share the new design with you.

Additionally, for the first time in Blayman history, we are creating dedicated pegs for Trumpet and Soprano Sax/Flugelhorn. Previously, these pegs were made from modified clarinet pegs, and the designs did not fit the instruments as well as they could. We are excited to be creating new pegs.

The 8x8 Bases have been put in Phase 2 solely because of skyrocketing steel prices due to pandemic supply issues. Steel prices seem to be coming down so we’re optimistic that we will be able to offer 8x8 Bases sooner than other Phase 2 products.
