Herb Blayman was a clarinetist in the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra for over 30 years. He designed the original Blayman stands to meet the performance demands of professional musicians. Today, under the ownership of Broadway musician Julie Pacheco, that legacy continues.

About Vent-Pegs

Multiple Blayman woodwind instrument pegs and stands on black steel bases

We combined the original 50-year old Blayman design with modern materials and manufacturing processes to create a peg for today’s musician.

  • Our new Blayman Vent-Pegs are made from a highly durable urethane, making them both kinder to instruments and quieter to use than rubber or plastic pegs.

  • The new Blayman Vent-Pegs have white inserts built directly into the peg for enhanced visibility that facilitates faster instrument switches and creates greater instrument security. Black inserts are also available for a classic all-black look.

  • Blayman Vent-Pegs are available for:

    Flute
    Alto Flute
    Bb/A Clarinet
    Eb Clarinet
    Oboe
    English Horn

About our Bases

Blayman black and blue powder-coated 5x5 and 5x8 steel bases

Solid steel bases provide the perfect support for all our instrument pegs.

  • Our solid steel bases have a textured powder coated finish that is resistant to dents, scratches and oils. The bottom of the base has protective felt.

    We have also incorporated the Blayman logo directly into the base, eliminating the use of stickers.

  • Countersunk holes aid in easier hole location. Rounded edges and corners help prevent the finish from chipping off.

  • While our bases will always be available in black, for those who would like a pop of color, we now give you Blayman Blue.

  • 5” x 5” weighs ~3.5 pounds and holds up to 2 instruments

    5” x 8” weighs ~5.5 pounds and holds up to 3 instruments

    8” Round weighs ~6.5 pounds and holds up to 5 instruments
