We are happy to announce that the molds for our Vent-Pegs (Bb/A Clarinet, Eb Clarinet, Oboe, English Horn, Flute, and Alto Flute) are officially complete! We are thrilled with how everything is turning out and are currently dialing in the final adjustments to address any quality control issues for production runs of each product. While the mold-making process took longer than expected, we are excited to be in the home stretch. We are very close to finalizing each product and sending all the molds out for final texturizing and engraving.
With the molds complete, we can now finally share the upgrades we have made to these classic products:
All Blayman Vent-Pegs will now be softer while still maintaining durability. By changing to a castable polyurethane material we were able to create pegs that will be gentler on your instruments and much quieter to use.
In making new molds, we took the opportunity to build in new visibility elements. All new Vent-Pegs will come with contrasting color inserts on top and around the base of the peg, facilitating faster switches and greater instrument security. For those of you who prefer the classic fully black peg, we will also offer the option to have black inserts.
For anyone wanting even greater visibility, we will also be offering a light gray peg with white, black, or blue inserts.
Next in line is the Piccolo Peg. The mold for this is currently being finished separately than the Vent-Pegs since it is a different style and material. The finalization process should move along quicker than the other pegs and we are hopeful it will still be launched along with the pegs listed above.
Additionally, we now have all the parts for our Bass Clarinet/Bassoon Stand prototype and will begin testing it with local musicians in the coming weeks.
